How do I know when my laptop’s LCD inverter is bad?
Sometimes it can be very hard to tell if
the LCD inverter board is bad. Here are some usual cases that may
signify a bad laptop inverter board:
- Laptop boots up normally but after some time the screen
blacks out. - An image is still visible on the screen but it’s very
dim. - Sometimes the backlight works and fails repeatedly or
occasionally. - The screen always stay black or dark and the
backlight never comes on but and image is barely visible on the LCD
screen. - If you hear a light buzzing noise near the area where the
inverter board is located, on the bottom of the display.
How do I install an LCD inverter?
Most laptops are going to be very
different with their LCD inverter installations. Some just require
opening a small compartment above the keyboard, while others require
taking off the LCD screen itself. You will always need a small
screwdriver to work on the tiny screws throughout the laptop. Also, the
full manual to your laptop usually helps as it conatins diagrams on
where to unscrew/unhook laptop components.
How do I find a replacement LCD inverter board?
When shopping for an LCD inverter, there
are a few things to look for. You must note your laptop’s model. Not
only do you need the brand, but you also will need the specific model
for your LCD inverter. (For instance, Dell
E1505 LCD inverter) You can also look on your inverter, and
there will be a group of white text that will state the inverter’s part
number. You can try searching for that part number for a compatible
inverter. The last thing to note, is the connections on your inverter.
